The Greatest Gift

May 10, 2017

Greetings Amerzing readers,

The picture above is my parent and I during the awards ceremony for my achievement in SPM 2015.

I dedicated this post to both of them in conjunction with my mom's birthday on this 13 May, the mother's day on 14 May 2017 and also father's day on 18 June 2017.

Mak,

I am so glad God has created you to be my mother. Motherhood is a tough 24-hour job, you get no payment, no day off, sometimes it is unappreciated, but yet resignation is impossible. You are a woman who created by God to bring love, joy, happiness and caring for us.

Your day is just around the corner but unfortunately, I won't be around with you at home. But I have a lot of thing that I want you to know.

For all the times that I have called and cried and you have answered…thank you!
For all the times you have sent me encouraging messages when I was down …thank you!
For all the times you came home after working 8 plus hours to cook us dinner…thank you!
For all the smile that you gave me even you were in pain...thank you!
For all the ways you have shown me what a woman of God looks like…thank you!
For the many times you have given me grace..thank you!

Abah,

You are so mysterious. You seldom share your story with us rather than mak that talks non-stop. But, as I have grown up, I have realized that I am truly thankful for having you in my life. Through the ups and downs, the thick and thin, you have always shown resilience and will power.

You might not always be at my side because you were working from the dusty dawn until the shady dark. Driving your motorcycle across the Penang bridge everyday. But, you have taught me how to succeed in life without holding my hand the whole way. I become independent. For that, I thank you.

I never comprehended how much you worked to provide for our family. Maybe it was because I was naive and young. I don’t know, but I truly understand what you have done for our family. You never sat around waiting for things to happen, you went out and created opportunities. Thank you!

From an eternally grateful and loved son,
Mak, Abah, terima kasih. Adik sayang mak abah. You are my greatest gift.
