18 is so LEGIT

Hi, guys. Here again, welcome to my blog (I never greet my readers before hmm, sorry). I hope you could have a strong temptation to finish reading this post. It might be a bit lame. (alaaa pendek je, please2… ahhaahhaha).

Because of 18 is so LEGIT, here are my opinions on both side of perceptions, should we do crazy things when we turn 18 just because we legally can?

YES, “CRAZY” IS RELATIVE

Why shouldn’t you be able to do crazy things when you’re 18? As long as you’re not doing anything illegal, no one can really bother you. I’m not saying you should go out and crash a car or get arrested, but you should take advantage of being an adult and really celebrate the moment.

Also, if doing crazy things at the age of 18 is legal, then I don’t think it’s that “crazy”. For example, you can buy cigarettes when you’re 18; what’s so crazy about that?

Maybe in your parents’ point of view things like smoking, getting a tattoo or gambling all your money away are crazy and irresponsible, but they aren’t necessarily against the law. At the age of 18, you can do whatever you want.

However, if you make the wrong move, you should also be adult enough to face the consequences. (yelah kan, tak macho lah bila tahu diri tu salah, tapi merangkak cari orang minta tolong. Sendiri buat, sendiri tanggung. Hihihihi…)

One thing to remember is that if you still live with your parents, you have to abide by their rules. So if they say no, you might want to listen to them so you don’t end up on the streets. (Silap2 haribulan, degil sangat nanti mak tarik telinga suruh keluar rumah. Haaaa tobat insaf terus bro hahahahaha)

As long as you’re safe and smart about what you decide to do when you reach the legal age, then go ahead and go crazy. Be adventurous! You only live once. YOLO!!!

NO, “CRAZY” ISN’T AN OPTION

Some teens think it’s acceptable to get out of control just because they’re of legal age. I think being 18 years old should make teens become more responsible and mature instead of careless and irresponsible.

At 18, you have to be more accountable for your actions, so doing crazy things should not be an option. At that age, people expect more from you because you’re not a child anymore. You’re considered an adult. You’re at the age when you can start working, get your own apartment or go off to college and live alone.

The age of 18 is a transition from your young adult years to adulthood (nak kahwin dah pun hehehe). You have to be conscientious; it’s not the start of your wild years where you get crazy just because you’re legal.

You can still have fun, but remember that people are watching. You’ll still make mistakes as you try to find your way, but don’t forget everything you were taught.

The law is harsher on legal teens than minors, so you should keep that in mind. Being legal and grown up are two different things. (Alaaa macam nasi goreng belacan dengan nasi goreng ikan bilis, rupanya sama tapi rasanya berbeza kahakahkah).

Have fun while you’re young and live life to the fullest, but make wise decisions and choices because it will affect your future.

15 Ways: Be An Interesting Blogger

“Be an interesting blogger.”

It’s good advice, but it’s nothing new. You’ve probably known from the beginning that being able to interest readers is a crucial part or growing a blog.

It’s pretty obvious that no one is going to stick around unless they find your blog interesting. But how are you supposed to do it exactly? How can you “be interesting?”

After having a research for fortnight. I’d like to share that. Right now!

I’ve been paying attention to the things that command attention, both of myself and others, and I’ve made a list of 15 ways that work. This list is far from all of them I’m sure, but it should be enough to get you started (and also myself).

1. Be wrong

The world is full of people trying to do the right things. It’s become so common that many of us are bored by it. We long for someone that’s willing to do the wrong thing, say the wrong thing, be the wrong thing. If you have the courage to be that person, you’ll find lots of people paying attention to you.

That's why people nowadays keep talking about the conspiracy about "Flat Earth". I believe that they just trying to be so wrong and seek for readers attention. Hahahahaha.. (but is our earth really round?)

2. Communicate what others can’t

As writers, we take ideas from our heads and put them on the page. Sometimes we forget how difficult that is for some people and how valuable that makes us. Lots of people would give anything to be able to say what they mean. But they can’t. So, they turn to songs, books, and art that communicate for them. Be a producer of those things, and you’ll never lose their attention.

3. Do something

Everybody online is trying to say something important, but very few are trying to do something important. If you want attention, dare not to just give advice to others, but to live that advice yourself. Then publish it to the open web. (Yes, I'm trying to live my 7 LIES ABOUT WRITING YOU PROBABLY BELIEVE)

4. Surprise people

Chip and Dan Heath, authors of Made to Stick, say that one of the best ways to set yourself apart is to break people’s “guessing machines”. Take a surprising position, making outlandish analogy, or otherwise do the opposite of what you normally do. As long as it’s unexpected, people will stop and pay attention.

5. Make people laugh

Bloggers are far too serious. We’re so busy teaching that we sometimes forget to entertain. As a result, large portions of our readerships fall asleep. And what’s the best way to wake people up? Humor. Public speakers have been using it for ages, and as long as it’s appropriate for your audience, humor can wake your readers up and get them paying attention again.

That's why I love to write A Cat's Diary in my blog and surprisingly it reached 300+ viewers only in 2 weeks, rather than any tips that I posted in my blog. Hmm... quite an achievement for me as a new blogger tho...

6. Offer them an aspirin (pain reliever)

Some of the best blog posts ever written are simple as an aspirin. Your reader has a headache, you have a cure, so you offer them that cure in the form of a blog post. They pay attention … not because of how pretty or well crafted your blog post is, but because it cures their headache.

Conclusion: try acting like a pharmacist, not a blogger, and you’ll never lack for attention.

Wait, how can Blogger become a Pharmacist hmm.. nahhh forget it.. to the next point!

7. Show a (half) naked woman

I found this and seriously I don't want to be a pervert. So, DON'T show a (half) naked woman!

8. Tell them who they are

“Who am I?”, is not just a question; it’s a universal quest that most of us follow for our entire lives, continually defining and redefining ourselves, always insecure about whether who we are being is really us. As a blogger, you can (and should) harness that insecurity. Turn your blog into something that defines your readers.

9. Predict something new

Every once in awhile, use your expertise to make a bizarre claim about anything. If you have any authority at all, people will take notice. Just for instance, THE FLAT EARTH. Damn, I just can't brain it. *sigh...

10. Unleash your inner dork

Many blog posts are like miniature textbooks; they’re instructive, well-organized, and put you to sleep with their lack of enthusiasm. If you want to become famous on the web, stop trying to sound like an all-knowing teacher and unleash the “inner dork” inside of you — the part of you that’s so enamored with your topic that everyone else thinks it’s funny … but they pay attention anyway. ^.^"

11. Be courageous

I think, I'm on this road right now. The fact is, pretty much everyone has felt the foot of adversity on their neck, but very few of us respond to it with courage and grace. Be one of those people, and you’ll find the world will be watching. Have courage and be kind. :) (tapi tu lah.. kadang2 kita ja pandai cakap, tapi diri sendiri macam tu jugak hmmm...)

12. Be startlingly honest

Every once in awhile, tell the truth. Be so honest that you’re scared to click the “Post” button. Be so honest that no one knows what to say in the comments section. Be so honest that your lawyer tells you to stop. You’ll feel better and people will talk about you.

13. Tell a good story

This one has been drilled into us so many times that I almost didn’t include it, except for one thing: people still don’t get it. Yes, stories support your points, make solid openers, and teach people while entertaining them, but a good story can make you a legend. I’m not talking about the little anecdotes that pepper the blogosphere. I’m talking about the story that haunts you on your deathbed. Forget about all the others. Tell them that one, and for your information, I have one. WAIT TILL I POST IT!

14. Pick the perfect picture

Want to make a good post better? Pick a picture that expresses exactly what you mean, and put it at the top of your post. Yes, it takes time, but the extra traffic is more than worth it. Hahahahha, but it's true! First impression is really matter. If your post is full of texts, it might be quite boring. THIS IS NOT INCLUDING A HALF NAKED PICTURE. Hahahahahhaha.. sorry2...

15. Put your readers first

Yes, you’re the blogger. Yes, you’re the one with talent. Yes, you’re the one working your tail off. But it doesn’t matter. The one and only thing of consequence is your reader. You can rail against this fact for as long as you like, but as long you do, you’ll never be interesting. So, put your readers first.

ADDICTED TO WRITING!! Since then, I've subscribed to this website and today I get this email about 7 lies about being a writer that we probably believe. Let's share!

It says there's a lot of bad information out there about how to become a writer. Some of it is well intentioned, some come from ignorance, and some is just a little bit mean, but it’s important to know which advice about becoming a writer is true and isn't.

#1. You have to be inspired.

\\Inspiration is for amateurs. Real writers write. If you want to be a writer, just go for it. Follow your heart, hold a pen/pencil or tap your keyboard and start writing!!!

#2. You have to be a grammar expert.

\\You don’t need to be an expert at grammar to be a writer. That’s what editors are for. You DO have to learn to be interesting like, during my SPM, we have to write a narrative story. O' God, I really love that part, but finally, I ended up writing an Argumentative essay for my SPM. sigh... I've got A for English :3

#3. Writer is an introvert.

\\The reality is that you do have to be able to spend many hours alone to be a writer, but that never stopped many extroverts from becoming writers. Mix with society, know their stories and manipulate them into a super extra interesting story. Hahahahaha..

#4. Writers make lots of money.

\\The reality is that writers often do make good money, but rarely just from their writing. I don't know much about this. hehe...

#5. Finishing your book is the hardest part.

\\For real, when you finish your book, that’s just the beginning of becoming a writer.

#6. You have good ideas.

\\It doesn’t matter how many great book ideas you have if you can’t finish your book.

#7. You could never be a writer.

\\You can make it as a writer. I promise. Don’t get discouraged. Instead, get busy. Like my teacher said, student will be more focus when they know that they have little time and many things to finish. That's why a student can finish their assignment 100% faster especially when the due date is tomorrow hahahahahahahah :').

The reality is we're all learning, we all have more practice to do, and none of us have arrived. I hope you won't let what you don't know about writing stop you from enjoying the process.

Why Am I Blogging in English?

Because I'm not a good Malay speaker?? Nahhhhhhh hahahahahha....

First and foremost, English is not my forte and obviously I’m not a native speaker.

Malay is my mother tongue. Writing in English is very different and it’s so difficult for me to distinguish between two accents at the same time even though I'm just writing.

I would say that when it comes to the communication and elaboration stuff, I will prefer to deliver it in my own language. Yes, I feel more confidence, have a better grip of local sayings, and secure from any misunderstanding.

Plus, when I write in my own language, I do believe that I can build closer relationships with other bloggers especially from my region, Malaysia, but the consequence is my words couldn’t reach to the edges of the world since Malay isn’t the world’s lingua franca.

Back to my story hahahahaha…. Frankly speaking, I choose English because I want to enhance my English skills. Yup! For real, I’m not a good speaker nor writer. I love to learn many languages (including Germany) but I haven’t master them yet.

So, as a forward move, I decided to have a blog and post some of my thoughts. With intention, hoping that people who read my words can help me improve my English.

At first, I was a bit scared and overthinking about what my friends and other people might say, maybe some will start talking at our back, judging and keep criticizing our words.

“Your sentence is such a mess”, “Your English is so broken” or maybe “You should stop, seriously”. I took those words as an encouragement and believe in myself that I can do better and better next time.

I believe that, I won’t know it until I start! It’s just my negative-brainy side that keep teasing me *sigh.

Be Confident!

Instead of giving up, I promise to myself that I will work harder and prove that I’m not like what they said.

Other than that, I found that when I’m writing in my own language, my target group will be smaller, than writing in a global language like English – a language many Internet users speak. Since my goal is to spread my words across the atmosphere, I choose to write in English because writing in English will naturally have a bigger audience and more readers.

So, for all that would like to blog in English but are too afraid to try (like me), I'd like for them to try to write at least one post. You can write about any topic that you like. For those of you who write in English and it's not your mother tongue (also like me hehe…). Keep calm, for me the things in blogging is being yourself, mistakes and all. As the saying goes, mistake is the best teacher. Teacher is a lovely person.

So why should we be afraid, right?

but, some teachers might be a little bit fierce tho. Jaga-jaga hahahahahahah!!!!

'HorrorDay'

This "horror" story was on Saturday 4th 2017,

I don’t mention them enough in my blog and I really should because they are the ones who always with me here in MMU since from the very beginning through all the Nasi Bujang and Air Kosong together. (Indeed, they never open and read my blog hm).

I met this crazy group of nerd boys. We grow up together, see each other every day, throw deep and sharp words at each other. Sometimes, I wonder why I befriend them. Sumpah wonder! But they are my life now and I feel so lucky to have them.

The day started when I was catastrophically craving for a cake and it must be from Secret Recipe. (Yes, yes, I'm cheesy. Leave me alone! Haha...). Then these gentle-like guys were so understanding and wanted to bring me there on the weekend. Not only that, suddenly popped up another tremendous idea from one of the mouth saying "Bowling jom!". Well, as you know, one thing about us... anything can!!!!

We went out after Zohor, straight to the MIBC Melaka... (pfffft... were studying in the morning).
I swear I'm not a good player, but I won the second place hihihihi..

To the SECRET RECIPE and beyond!!!

Cakes never make you fatter.
That is only a rumors.

My craving was satisfied af, but the things was after finished eating, we heard a very familiar voice from nowhere. Guess what, AXXXX TXXX (don't want to mention) was here singing live man! What on earth!!! Aduhhhhhh..... Starting at that second, our plan has ruined! YES! BECAUSE OF THAT HOOMAN! Hahahahaha.....we're totally stressed out but we were there at his concert for a while just for a single "Boooo" and some insta strory. Hahaha... no offence.

As I said ruined, I suggested a movie night. So we went to AEON to have an unplanned movie until 1 a.m. We watched THE SPLIT.

So that is the "HorrorDay" story that I maybe will never forget. I spent almost RM130 and we saw AXXXX TXXX singing (This freaked our ass out the most). Only God knows the feeling.

Nasi Bujang mode on!
